I don't know about you, but my email inbox can get overwhelming sometimes. There are just so many messages coming in that staying ahead of the flow can seem impossible.
I will admit that it's my own doing for the most part, since I use email as my primary form of communication. To me, there is no replacement for email, and I can't imagine running my businesses without it. That doesn't mean it's always easy to manage, though.
So how do I fight email overload and prevent myself from drowning in the constant barrage of incoming messages? It's simple; I have a system. I have several very specific strategies I use to read, reply to, track and act on email messages. My goal is to use email with a "get in, get out" perspective, and make it the communication tool that I want it to be.
