When we were children, it seems we were always looking forward to the next big thing. Summer vacation, Christmas, a trip to Disney World...there was always something better coming. "Right now" was time you needed to spend in order to get closer to that one big thing you were looking forward to doing.
Some of us do the same thing as adults. We fall into the "I can't wait until..." or "If only it were time to..." trap. It's human nature to look ahead to the future; it gives us hope and makes our dreams and goals worth reaching for. The problem is when we get so caught up in the future that we forget about right now.
