QR (Quick Response) codes are two-dimensional barcodes that are encoded with text, URLs or other data. When scanned with a barcode reader on a smartphone or computer, a QR code will activate the embedded data by opening a link to a website, connecting to a specific app, or initiating another activity.
An example of a QR code is shown here. Scanning the image with a barcode reader will bring you to this site's homepage.
