We live in a visual world made up of vibrant colors. Yet, the applications of colors in business are often an afterthought of marketing. Colors are an essential design element for logos, website development, business cards and all of your business branding. According to a study by University of Loyola in Maryland, brand recognition can increase up to 80 percent by using colors.

What is the meaning of colors in business?

  • White: Pure. Clean. Youthful. It's a neutral color that can imply purity in fashion and sterilization in the medical profession.
  • Black: Power. Elegant. Secretive. The color black can target your high-end market or be used in youth marketing to add mystery to your image.
  • Red: Passion. Excitement. Danger. Red is the color of attention, causing the blood pressure and heart rate to rise. Use red to inject excitement into your brand.
  • Orange: Vibrant. Energy. Play. Add some fun to your company if you want to create a playful environment for your customers.

Great post. We sometimes find ourselves in the color-advice consulting business when designing booths for companies. Unfortunately, however, it’s more of a marketeer’s job, and it’s important that we put the brakes on and let their branding reign superior. Nothing worse than losing a bid based on color preferences (the customer is always right;))
