Thomas Edison was born this week in 1847 and was an innovator with over 1,093 patents to his name. Edison is still a great source of inspiration today as would be inventors and innovators search for the next million dollar idea.
In honor of the great inventor, the annual Edison Awards, established in 1987, honor some of the most innovative companies, business leaders and products in corporate America. This year's finalists include:
