Customers have the upper hand today with unlimited choices and supply. The biggest challenge for any small business is how to stand out in a sea of mediocrity. It often just takes a different viewpoint to become unstuck from the "norms" of an industry.

The $64 billion dollar diamond business is an old, mature business with set sacred cows. One company breaking the boundaries and having great success is Spence Diamonds. The 28-year-old business operates unlike traditional diamond retailers. Walk into most diamond stores and you have to peer behind the glass and politely ask to see a diamond up close.
