Biz Opportunity: Buggy Profits

Wednesday July 16, 2003
It seems like the world is being over run with bugs...West Nile mosquitoes, sars virus, termites, dust mites, grasshoppers and ants. There are over one million billion insects alone, not counting microbes and only 6 billion humans. But there is one thing about humans, we dislike bugs. This means a big opportunity in the bug business.

The pest management business is growing annually at 4% and recession-proof especially with the rising public concern over the link between pests and disease. The industry is mixed with billion dollar companies and mom-and-pop operations. The small companies bring in revenues of $75,000 to $175,000. Plenty of opportunites abound with changing weather patterns, public fear, and the ever-growing bug population.
