The Reality Of Venture Capital
Friday July 11, 2003
The MoneyTree released its quarterly venture capital investment activity survey for the United States. This report is developed by PricewaterhouseCoopers, Thomson Venture Economics and the National Venture Capital Association. What is interesting is the level of activity by industry and stage of development. The odds of winning one out of 623 deals is remote unless your company is in biotech, software or telecommunications industry. Over 60% of the deals went to companies in the expansion stage of development. So forget venture capital. That's right, forget it. There are other more realistic forms of financing for the majority of small businesses. Finance Resources.
